Hi all!  I’m taking a few minutes to give you a sneak peek at my new series for astrology.  These are 10 of the 12 sun signs coming out soon.  I have big plans for these but for now I just wanted to share the initial drawings.  I’m going to get back to adding the color and then I’ll give a peek at the finished bunch.  Who knows, I may just have them ready for the next show I’m doing on November 5th and 6th in Litchfield Park.  I’ll keep you posted!

It’s been a bit quiet here on the Enchanted Elementals blog.  I’ve been hibernating a bit working on life in general.  It’s time to kick it back up again and start getting ready for the fall.  There are so many things that I want to do, plans that I need to make, and Elementals to be drawn.  It’s a bit daunting but I’ll work through it.  I thought I’d take a minute and share some of the things I’ve been working on.

Why Does It Feel So Overwhelming?

Have you felt like there is so much to do, so little time and even less motivation? Well, you are not alone.  I’ve been overwhelmed from the moment I decided to move forward with the Enchanted Elementals.   There have  been so many lessons learned over the past few years and I thought I’d share just a few of them.

Lesson One

Make a List and Make a Plan – yes, this does seem logical, doesn’t it?  So many times my intention was to  make a list, make a plan, but I just didn’t have time.  Instead I’d start working on a  project, then another, and another and before you know it, I was in a state of overwhelm all over again.  And so what happens when I hit overwhelm?  I shut down.  I stop everything.  I walk away.  I start thinking  of all the things I should have done, all the things I didn’t do.  Do you know how exhausting that  can be?  I’d mentally wear myself out to the point I just didn’t have any energy to do what needed  to get done.  Grrr.

Lesson Two

Stick to the List and the Plan – again, seems like a simple concept.  Guess what?  It’s not.  Why?  I don’t know.  I just know that the very simple idea of following my lists and following through with  my plans has again turned into another battle with my brain.  Why, why, why?

Here’s what I know for sure -  When I follow my plans and use my lists I get more done in a day than I do in a month.  I don’t waste time on filing paperwork, or checking email, or looking for ideas…like I need more ideas!  The point  I’m making is that a person (me) can waste alot of precious time when one is just floundering around  like a plastic bag floating through the air (hey, that’s Katy Perry’s line!).

Lesson Three

Remember lesson one and two.  Get those two lessons down and we’ll be on our way to getting things done and  lessening the feeling of overwhem.  I promise it does work.

Now What?

I’m busy making my list.  Already today, I made my list of projects that must be completed in the next  few months.  I already feel better.  For the rest of today, I will be making a plan so I can get these  things done.  I’m done procrastinating, postponing and feeling like poop about it.

I thought it might be fun to show you a before and after when I’m creating one of the Enchanted Elementals.  Several months ago I scanned Ivee before she was all colored in.  It’s a bit odd for me to scan before it’s done. 

I was sifting today through my portfolio on my desktop while working on a new project when I came across Ivee in black and white.  So I though “Gee, I think I’ll share this with everyone today!”

Happy New Year!  Wow!  Where did 2010 go?  It felt like the shortest year yet.  I had so many plans, intentions and projects that are still sitting her staring at me.   2010 was a great year.  The Enchanted Elementals and I managed four events in the last quarter of the year. They turned out to be very successful in terms of exposure, financially and in every other way possible.  It set the stage for 2011.

I’ve been really busy creating new things.  I’ve had such an attraction to trees recently.  It’s not that I haven’t always had a soft spot for them, but recently I’m feeling strongly that I need to get my collection ready for everyone to see.   I had a collection of prints at SWIHA recently.  I will be creating some more trees that will be prints and in addition -  the new pieces I’m creating are on wood.  Yes, that’s right, I’m using my colored pencils and I’m creating one of a kind pieces on wood.  It’s so exciting.  So far, it looks like some oval plaques and wood heart pendants are coming out first.  I’ve created a few

pieces experimenting with the wood, the coloring, glitter and varnish.  A few of the pictures are here for you to see.  I hope you’re just as excited as I am.  I  have a feeling I’m going to stay pretty busy keeping up with the demand of these little treasures. 

It’s late and I’m in the process of getting more things on the Etsy website.   It’s so much work but so much fun!

We had a great day and many Elementals went to a new home. 

I’ve been busy getting ready for A Peace of the Universe’s Spiritual Fair on Saturday, October 30th.  This will be my first fair of the year and really the “first” one of all.  Last year I participated in Storm Wisdom’s Festival but I really wasn’t clear on what to sell and I didn’t have a booth, just a table. 

This year is a whole different ball game.  I wish I had the time to take some pictures of what I’ve been creating but I’m working on staying focused.  Okay, you caught me, I’m writing this post right now.  I really wanted to let you all know where I’ll be this Saturday so all you locals can come and see us.  A Peace of the Universe is located at 7000 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ.
